意味: 手がかり、ヒント
例文:

- soar down
= 高いところからふわっと降りてくる（上から下へ滑空する感じ） - knocking his bacon to the floor
→「そのはずみで、彼のベーコンが床に落ちた」
– 現在分詞 knocking は「副詞的用法」で、「結果」を表しています。
– 「その包みが落ちた → ベーコンも床に落ちた」という流れ。
「parcel」はハリポタ本編でも頻繁に登場します。

try and get it through one of the hoops：
➢「リングの1つにそれ（ボール）を通そうとする」
“try and ~” = “try to ~” と同義で、口語的な表現です。
「hoop」はフラフープやドラえもんのひみつ道具「通りぬけフープ」で有名だね😁
uproar（騒動）
意味: 騒動、大騒ぎ
例文:
- There was an uproar when the team lost the match.
チームが試合に負けて大騒ぎになった。 - The announcement caused a public uproar.
その発表は世間に騒動を引き起こした。

- It took ~ to …：
